Buya Hamka is a 2023 Indonesian biopic about Prof. Hamka, a famous Muslim scholar and writer. Vol. 1 shows his youth in Muhammadiyah, his journalism, and struggles during the Japanese occupation. Vol. 2 shows his role after independence, being shot for uniting people, being falsely jailed, and writing Tafsir Al-Azhar in prison. It’s a story about faith, love, and dedication to Indonesia.

The Movie Directed by Fajar Bustomi, and Some Cast that we were handles are Vino Bastian as Hamka; Laudya Cynthia Bella as Siti Raham, Hamka's wife; Donny Damara as Haji Rasul; Martino Leo as Amir; and Ayu Laksmi as Andung, The Vol. 1 was released on  April 19, 2023 and  Vol. 2 on December 21, 2023
